I like looking up at the moon, thinking it smiles back.
Sometimes, I think it does; whereas, other times, it's as if it disappears from the face of a darkening sky, and those are the nights I frantically keep searching for it to appear, for it to watch over me, because, somehow, I've made myself believe it copies me … that it knows and understands whatever mood I'm in.
Also, I like looking up at the clouds forming shapes, engulfing stars, and occasionally the moon, which makes the sky take on the appearance of how my life feels right now: empty, foreboding, overwhelming darkness everywhere, while I seek a way out to embrace breath-gifting, ached for light.
Yet, it seems as though the darkness has penetrated my very mind, causing me to look at the bleak view from a dimly lit window of my soul, where something resides... sleeping, waiting to be awakened....!

You are the first person in my life that expresses this feeling that my moods are mirrored in the phases of the moon! It's like, with a brand new crescent, life seems to have new promise & with a waning crescent, life feels as if it's slipping thru our fingers. I love hearing the details of how this feels from your perspective & your expressions are artful & relatable (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

The moon inspires many thoughts and emotions... I like to think of its soft light caressing lovers, or giving comfort and reassurance to a lonely person...It stirs the soul.

Yes, it has always fascinated me..
Thank you for the beautiful thoughts, Jibey 😊

I liked these lines..
dimly lit window of my soul where something resides sleeping waiting to be awakened..

everyone feels connected to the moon but I believe we cancerians feel little extra connection to them :)
the moon phase has too much connection to the mood swings we keep having …

hope you will find the moon and stars back in your life..
good luck with your writings..
