Love Psalms

Love Psalms

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

In collaboration with Asante.

"

Nurturing of mind and heart
are best not left to palms,
merely painted in the tint of blood
or voices faint in spoken love.

Imprints of a love lost, awaiting
miracles and wonders to be filled
where shadows tiptoe over hopes
built on wisps of smoky dreams.

Torn tissue, soaked sleeves,
crying out to moving clouds
for coping strength and redirection,
cleansing rain and ample blessings.

Tattered thoughts, hands clasped,
faint outlines grow prominent
more than ever; in lush green meadows
we were merely waltzing around,

skies with hues sombre, yet vibrant
and lulling melodies traced their way back ~ to sleep.

Beautiful image and poem. Because I'm a simple-minded man who went to public school ;), I had to read it a few times, and I enjoyed it more with each read. Nice collaboration with your friend. I always enjoy reading your work.

Thank you so much for appreciating this collab, Jimmy. Glad you like it :)
Well done, Doc/Asante. I like it. One thing to my thinking would be to pluralize the first line.

"Nurturing of mind and heart"
to
'Nurturing of minds and hearts'

Only for the fact that the rest of your nouns are plural.

Good write.

You have created a vivid imagery, you chose your words wisely and I like the last stanzas a lot as they are very descriptive.
Your title confuses me with the second line in the first stanza.
