Around The Crinkle of Your Eyes

Around The Crinkle of Your Eyes

A Chapter by Dr. YumnaKay
"

A little different from my previous writes (I think). Just a touch sensual.

"
The afternoon glows, vibrant,
coursing through my veins
in strange colours

and when last night seems
forever ago, I ache
for a night that never was.

And days on end drag,
dull, itching themselves
to make way for the night

where you are no longer
a mere passer-by of
my reveries

when you touch me
with your words in
places that never were.

I would make a home
around the crinkle
of your eyes; a home
that never was.

I like the way this is stated with a touch of ambivalence, right in the middle of longing. This narrator does not feel "all in" but he/she could be persuaded I'm guessing. I love the crinkle you write about & it kills me when people think that crinkles must be banished! *smile* Fondly, Margie

:D I'm glad to have that effect. But writers like you here inspire me so much! Thanks again x
I love the warm feeling of this beautiful poem... the longing and the desire, the sadness of the impossible triumphing over imagination's dreams...

If only 'never was' could be deleted.
