Animal Lover

The youth displayed his gracious mind to the animals

Four cats took refuge in the shadow

Crows cawed from ground and trees

Heatwave hurts like poisonous arrow

Sun sucked water of rivers and seas

People are frightened of sunstroke

They avoid going out of their homes

World seems to be covered by smoke

All animals try to hide under domes

A strange thing happened suddenly

A youth came there from nowhere

He put some foods for the cat family

His eyes showed compassion and care

The cats started to eat the tasty food

They looked very pleased by the favor

The youth was very friendly and good

He was seen as a perfect cat lover

He waited until they finished eating

Some foods remained in the hamper

He looked at the crows in the meeting

He wished to show better temper

He made small balls with them

And threw them here and there

Crows enjoyed food gathering game

They were happy with their share

Cats and crows are friends of mankind

This is a nicely original & imaginative way to show us a contrast between people who are stuck & blinded by their indoor living routine, & those of us who are more tuned into the outdoor animal world. I write many animal poems & stories so I'm always going to enjoy a fellow animal lover. It feels like your writing & your thinking is uninhibited, which makes your message feel unexpected, even tho it's familiar.

What a delightful scene you created here, Zainul! The child feeding the cats and the crows...and unlikely duo! There is a lesson to be learned here. The crows were happy they were given a share...they did not try to steal from the cats. If only the world were more like the animals in your poem. Very well written with wise words and great rhyming. I enjoyed both the rhyme and the message in this poem. It might me legal to do so, but it's not necessary to put an "s" at the end of the word food. I have crows, and mouser cats about my house; they are all well fed by me and my neighbors. I do one thing that no one else does; I let the colorful wild flowers on my lawn grow to seed before mowing my lawn in the Spring so that honey bees may have a source of nectar , and birds may have a source of seeds by late Spring.

Anytime, sorry it took me so long but I will get to reading more as time frees up. It is wonderful work. And I don't over glorify...if I don't like it I will say so in a constructive way or not say anything at all but I find beauty in all poetry so far.
