Tooth Story

Tooth deserves proper care

Last night met a wonderful girl child

She wore a pink kameez and always smiled

She recited rhymes and sang sweet song

It appeared that she knew me for long

The child happily told many amazing stories

The most stunning was about tooth fairies

She said how she pulled tooth herself

She moved the loose tooth without help

As she pulled her tooth like a dentist

Blood dropped on her clothing and wrist

She then put the tooth under her pillow

And waited for the tooth fairy to see her follow

I became very amazed by the child's wit

I hope she will shine in life bit by bit

Now,let me turn to my own tooth story 

I lost too many teeth and feel very sorry

Failed to sense the process of tooth decay

Consulted a dentist at a great delay

He compared my teeth with  reeds of harmonium

And vowed to present the case in a symposium

His humor gives me pain and pleasure

I regret for not taking timely care

I pray the teeth of the flower like girl

Will always shine like  pearl

*smiles* this is an amazing and a very cute 'tooth story' I've come across this far.I don't really know if those tooth fairies exist, but I'm sure if they do exist, they might be giggling and smiling I awe fir the wonderful teeth story you've written, that tells us so much about them...And yes, teeth are precious no matter what one's age is..They kinda make our smiles way more noticeable than we can ever can! Also they make us look prettier 😊

PS: get a new artificial tooth for you too, for the reasons I've stated above (just a suggestions) 😜😊

a quaint & delightful little story zainul.
i don't really remember much about my own teeth when a child, except i did wear braces that were on a plate, which you could take out to brush your teeth & before going to sleep. then the next morning you put them back in your mouth.

Thank you Carola for supplementing the use of brace which I didn't add in the poem.I see now many are using this artifact which indicates awareness for maintenance of tooth.I think tooth is a very important asset for human being for many reasons.People should take proper care of this asset before the opportunity slips out of control.Thanks for stopping by and inspiring me.

Definitely a message that includes everyday observations & concerns, but something that most writers never think to write about! Nice originality! I like the contrast between the child losing a tooth in the natural course of growing up & the older person having lost too many teeth to decay, etc. I used to have recurring nightmares that all my teeth would fall out, so I was faithful about taking care of my teeth. Fortunately, I have all my own teeth at age 60. Your poem makes me even more thankful for this. Thanks for sharing a unique perspective!

This made me laugh, but I am sorry your teeth are in such poor shape. I take good care of my teeth and go to the dentist regularly, but still I have had crowns and root canals and bridges.

I too prya the teeth of this little girl will always shine.

Thank you Marie for the compassionate words for my teeth.I was afraid of pain associated with scaling and root canal.Hence though I knew the role of a dentist in the management of the health of teeth,I could not decide for root canal.Now,the time is over to do root canal as serious decay has taken place.Actually, a miscommunication regarding scaling frightened me about doing
the operation before serious decay occurred.Presently,I have bridges.I am also changing tooth
paste after some interval.
My intention of this poem is motivating people about proper care of teeth before serious damage
takes place.I hope my negligence will not be followed by others about the management of priceless treasure of teeth.
