Crowded Solitude

Crowded Solitude

A Poem by Alex Davis

Crowded Solitude

so close to so many,

and yet all alone,

be there for any,

no place called home,

what good is a friend?

Who goes out with the tide?

Their wounds you mend,

Their secrets you hide,

You carry their plight,

Only to find,

They’ve gone in flight,

Left you behind,

So here I sit,

heart rung out bare,

Why don’t you stay a bit?

And take your share?

You wouldn’t be the first,

You won’t be the last,

Oh how I wish,

One would pour back in my dish,

There you go, all better,

Problems solved, nothings the matter,

A smile on your face,

My job is complete,

Join the crowd, find your place,

I’ll be there too, a bit incomplete,

Sitting in my crowd,

All alone in shroud

Thanks :) I try to write things that are applicable to most readers. As an old adage goes, art isn't.. read more
Very good...love your style. Noticed a misspelling...wuld instead of would. This didn't affect my experience but if it were me, I would want someone to point it out.
