O, Love Has Fled From MeA Poem by Gleb ZavlanovSuch pity love has fled...
O such a pity love has fled from me Upon the
wings of some nightmarish fate O such a pity scorn and misery Is all
that lingers by my heart’s black gate
O such a pity wilted is love’s rose O such a
pity withered is love’s light O such a grief that I bear countless woes With which
I am unable but to fight
I thought that love’s bright, warm flame would
persist For
countless years, for countless days and on But hapless being, it waned ‘neath the mist That
blocked the radiant rays of the sun
O such a pity, such a dark despair O such a
sadness that I can’t contain There’s nothing worse or moreover unfair Than love
that’s been left in the dark to wane… © 2013 Gleb ZavlanovReviews
