Bliss Is Brief, Pain is Forever

Bliss Is Brief, Pain is Forever

A Poem by Hello, Goodbye
"

..not poetry, merely reality..

"

Pain.

It is universal.

To speak of pain...

Is to be reunited with a feeling,

That as humans we comprehend too well.

Often times we feel, that happiness,

Is what life is all about.

Yet, we find that life is filled greatly with grief.

And we receive flashes of blissful brightness in brevity.

I imagine then, that in order to understand our essence,

We must come to understand the pain.

The deep sorrow inside of our screaming core.

Glee is Free.

To endure happiness is entirely pleasant.

But Pain, it lives loudly and must be terribly tolerated.

It does not stand idle.

It fiercely attacks every part of our spirit.

It is filled with an infinite amount of activity.

Dealing with the pain and the pressure of stress that it brings..

Makes us forget what life is really all about.

And While it might be drowning in the despondency of pain.

Leaving it, In that state, will bring us no gain.

Unless of course, our desire is to suffer.

I wonder.. if conversion is an option?

We need to explore and find..

A way to turn pain into glee.

Sour into sweet.

For happiness is what we need.

Maybe..

Pain.

Turned into..

Bliss.

But how?

But...

I love this. It's a lot like a peom I wrote a while back about anger. This is so true and it's crazy how happiness can be turned to pain in a slpit second but it's sooo hard to turn pain into joy. Well written and it's one of those poems that once the reader is done reading it, their mind is invoked with such difficult questions that's all it really thinks about.

To find the good in every bad isn't always easy, but worth it to search - search long enough to see the light in the dark...

Incredible how your wonderful painting in words fits the canvas of truth.
An awesome piece.

If this isn't poetic personified, may I stay silent and idle..

Questions aplenty hidden in this piece. Pain is universal and that is so true. We all so often unite in it. Understand n comprehend it better than happiness. Good stuff! :")

Omg, this is so true! And I absolutley love it. Happiness and pain are both such fragile emotions. Pain comes easily, yet happiness is hard to find. And once you find it, it is so easily taken away. I love this poem. Such an amazing write.

Pain and happiness on the same horizontal plane but opposite ends of the spectrum. Don't think we would be able to enjoy the small moments of bliss without knowing why we are so happy. I liked taking a look at this perspective...very thought provoking.

feelings, are a kind of sense, like taste and smell; they report to us the status of inner and outer events, either the way we are 'feeling' about our self and/or our circumstances, both of which can change...as for turning pain to glee, that's no overnight enterprise, but turning down the temperature of pain...well, that's a one step at a time proposition...
