summertime fantasies

taken from me

I feel your smile in my soul

your laugh rings in my ears 

it sings louder than the beat of your heart

faintly there, but it feels gone to me 

I've watched you come and go 

our friendship left to the unknown 

but I have loved you dear

with a closeness you'll never know 

I hold on with only faint dreams of letting go 

easy is as easy does 

but what is friendship without love 

hope is distant, but what is hope without faith

what is sunshine without a little bit of rain
