Happy Birthday Mom

Happy Birthday Mom

A Poem by Zombie Dutcher
"

My mom's birthday was on August 19th and i was up in northern idaho. I wrote her this for her birthday.

"
Happy Birthday! there's not much more to say
21 years of you still being great
you got a few left before your hair turns grey
thanks for the support that you've offered to me
i know it seems sometimes i don't always see
and i know i'm not the greatest at acknowledging it
but i have a few years left to practice it
id also like to thank you for supporting my decision
bout joining the marines and choosing the life ill be living
i know its not easy raisin me on your own
but you've done pretty well raisin me in a good home
and i know your gonna cry when i leave your side
and when i move on to live my own life
it'll kill you again when i find me a wife
but your strong and independent you always have been
cause you've always been able to support me and be my friend
a friend and a mother isn't easy to do
but you did darn good and i'm proud of you]
now i know you wont live forever and a day
just know you left your mark and i heeded every mistake you made
thank you for holding it together when life all went to crap
i'll always love you for staying cool through all of that.
