I have a suggestion for you: write a revision of "The World Turned Upside Down" and submit to the contest! I think the restrictions are general enough that you can even make the writing your own.

This is what I was referring to. Right now, I haven't asked my character much more about the story itself. I still have to find out what sort of other personality does the character have...

You really are trying to expand your horizons. Which is good, the same old song and dance just doesn't always cut it. Its good to change the steak cut you want to eat... after all, you do get tired of the same salt and pepper routine.
So what is new?
For me, I would say that I haven't written much----at least what I can consider showing. I do have some writing, but... I have a character who is trying to give me the story to write. Just a trick to learn... or something like that. If interested, we can combine for a brainstorming session-maybe we can stir some dust off the creativity. "Two heads are better than one"
