About Me

Julian Gallo is a New York City writer/musician/painter who has 5 poetry chapbooks to his credit: "Standing on Lorimer Street Awaiting Crucifixion" (Alpha Beat Press 1996), "The Terror of Your C**t Is The Beauty of Your Face" (Black Spring Press 1999), "Street Gospel Mystical Intellectual Survival Codes" (Budget Press 2000), "Scrape That Violin More Darkly Then Hover Like Smoke In The Air" (Black Spring Press 2001) and "Existential Labyrinths" (Black Spring Press 2003); the broadsides: "My Arrival is Marked by Illuminating Stains" (Black Spring Press 1997), "To Be Joyous Is To Be A Madman In A World of Sad Ghosts" (Alpha Beat Press 1998), "These Are Not Words" (Lucid Moon Press 1998) and "Ole!" (Alpha Beat Press 2005). He also has poems and short stories published in about 40 journals throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe. He has completed one novel and is currently working on his second. He is currently playing bass for the rock band Bitterweed and is also playing bass and guitar for Linda La Porte's solo project. One of his paintings was featured in the Holy Ghost Salon in Brooklyn, New York in 1999.
