About Me

I have always been fascinated by the past. As a child I had a reputation for dragging my parents around ancient castles and Iron age hill forts during summer holidays and any weekend I could persuade them. As a teenager this passion for history naturally progressed and blossomed into a fixation with politics, philosophy and the world that has not yet come to pass. The likes of Arthur C. Clarke and Philip K. Dick became my muses alongside Attenborough and E. O Wilson as I became fixated by the realisation of humanity's ever increasingly precarious place within the natural world. in 2008 I went on to study history at University, focusing my dissertation on Pre-Columbian ritualistic warfare in the Americas. I was fortunate enough to be offered a place on an MA course where I focused upon Asian forced labourers during the Second World War. Since then I trundled along in life in various office jobs, always reading and researching but never quite sure what for. Then, finally in 2014, during a 12 week stay promoting environmental sustainability in the Latin American nation of Honduras, I began writing.
