Practice Describing

Pick an object and describe it. It can be anything at all, but I usually try to choose the boring things, like an ornament, because then it presents more of a challenge and really gets your mind working. Imagine you’re trying to interest everyone in this little object, use every writing technique you can think of and then read and re-read the finished piece to make sure it’s interesting.
