Word Vomit

A good writer writes EVERYDAY no matter what.

It is always a good practice to try to write at least one thing a day, even if it's only a paragraph.A good exercise to do is just sit down and start typing whatever fills inside your hands. I have created quite a few darling pieces that way.I call this process "Word Vomit". If you have seen the movie "Finding Forrester" you may recognize this as the same practice that Sean Connery told the protagonist of the story to do. For once, what you see in the movies is actually applicable to real life! Who would have thunk it? So everyone, I want you to make a piece of word vomit and if you can, submit it to me! I want to see it! It's probably better than half of your pieces on here! Because, although writing is very technical, it is also very loving. By word vomiting daily we are making love to those glorious scribbles we call words.And everyone knows that love makes everything better! In closing.......... I salute you Mr. Alphabet, and I prostrate myself to Sir Linguistics.

Huh, nice description of a word vomit. I've been looking for definitions everywhere. I have my own definition of course and yes it's the same as yours I think. For me, it's when you just keep on writing whatever comes to mind whether you make sense to others or not. :D I tend to do it on most of my poems =o

I do this when I am working on chapters. First, I vomit up the dialogue, which I've usually memorised already from my constant rehearsals of my manuscript. Then, I go in and puke up the descriptions and actions a little bit. Then, I go from there. :) It is definitely a wonderful technique.

i always use "automatic writing" is a huge starting point with any peice of writing.
i just grab a pen and a peice of paper and write. it doesnt matter if its the same word over and over again i will eventually get somewhere.

I cling to the moment, that will once be just a scrap page in old women stories told in varied versions. I smile setting my fingers on the "take picture" button. I envision what my life would be when that moment ends. I predict the sharp aching, and the remorse. That chance when I slapped away those hands laid out to me. I recoil in the possibility of eyes seeping rain, and smiles grimace, rugged and swallowed by mocking Azrael. I needed time, claiming I'm not slow. It's the world that's spinning too fast. I yell: F*****g, wait!" while I skeptically tip-toe on a rim of vaccum. My ear is hurt by all the sighs and complaints. "What the f*****g hell are you f*****g waiting for!?" Someone beckons I try to focus my eyes on that one last glass string still keeping intact. "One more minute! Bare with me...Patience is a virtue."

The apple, A sunset of fruits, so glorious in it's stance. How it beats the pear, with it's ungainly shape. For once an apple is truly an apple, it can never be a pear. In taste or color, an apple is an apple, and should be happy to just be an apple.

no clue where it came from. Haven't had apples or pears on my mind in a long time.
