Also through his paternal side, King Edward I the song of King Henry III and Edward's second wife, Princess Margaret of France. They had a son,Thomas of Brotherton, 1st Earl of Norfolk and he married Alice Skogan and they had a daughter,Margaret, Duchess of Norfolk and she married John Segrave, 4th Baron Segrave and their daughter Elizabeth Segrave, Baroness Mowbray married John de Mowbray, 4th Baron Mowbray and they had Thomas de Mowbray, 1st Duke of Norfolk who married Elizabeth Fitzalan, Duchess of Norfolk and they had Lady Margaret who married Lord Robert Howard and they had Lord John Howard, the 1st Howard Duke of Norfolk. King Richard III created Lord John Howard, Duke of Norfolk in 1483 and he died fighting for his King, King Richard III on Bosworth Field in 1485 under the hands of the usurper, Henry Tudor.
