Evidence Of Bigfoot

Evidence Of Bigfoot

A Lesson by Clif

There are some different theories about where Bigfoot comes from in evolution.

One theory is that Bigfoot is a descended of Gigantopithecus.

Giganto was a giant ape that lived about 100,000 to 1 million years ago in Asia.  They are scientifically proven to really have existed by actual fossils found in China and Vietnam. This Idea was championed by the late Dr. Grover Krantz, anthropologist at Washington State University. He was the preeminent expert on Bigfoot.

Gigantopithecus was 9 feet tall, weighing over 1000 pounds.

Descriptions of  extremely large Sasquatch fit the dimensions of Gigantopithecus from the fossil record. If this is correct then Bigfoot is not a direct ancestor of humans. They are not a missing link. Bigfoot is a distant cousin of  man, a branch off in evolution.

The theory is that Sasquatch migrated from Asia over the Bering Land Bridge to North America about 15,000 to 20,000 years ago. This was about the time the first people came to North America from Asia.

Gigantopithecus was once thought to be a descendant of Australopithecus, (Lucy), a direct ancestor of man. A later theory is that Giganto is closer related to orangutans.

Another theory is that Bigfoot is a descendant of Paranthropus, Australopithecus Robustus, that lived between 1 million and 2 million years ago in Africa. Australopithecus is a very distant ancestor of humans.  A fossil named Lucy, lived over 3 million years ago. She was about three and a half feet tall, covered with hair, with a small brain, but walked upright like us. Australopithecus eventually evolved into modern man. Over the millions of years, there were other off shoots of hominids, like Neanderthals.

And there is also a theory that Bigfoot is a surviving descendant of Heidelbergensis. This was a relative of man that lived about 700,000 years ago.  They descended from Homo Erectus, as did Man. Heidelbergensis was a relative of  Neanderthal man, which went extinct. There was a group of these humanoids in Africa with individuals that were 7 feet tall. Some descriptions of  Bigfoot match ancient humans like Heidelbergensis. Particularly in Russia where reports of the almas, is described as looking like a prehistoric caveman.

There are other theories that Bigfoot could be a hybrid of man and some kind of ape. Some different sightings appear to be similar to gorillas, while others look more like orangutans or chimpanzees. The problem is that in biology and genetics, humans cannot crossbreed with apes. Yet many reports of Bigfoot describe them as having a more human looking face.

There are still more questions than answers about the cryptic primate in North America

and other parts of the world.
