A little help please...

I'm writing my first ever serious book where my character is telling the story or I am the character lol but I'm not sure how to introduce my character into the plot. Can I go through the first chapter without even mentioning her name, then kind of slip it in somewhere. Can I introduce her when she meets up with another character in chapter one who is vitally important to the plot?

I'm not sure what to do. Please help.

Most important is to introduce the problem of the story as early on in your story as you can.  If you hold back the protagonist's name till chapter two, it can't hurt, if you have a reason for doing so, but to hold back the problem is not a good thing.

By problem is mean: Will so-and-so manage to achieve such-and-such?  Every story must have a problem and someone to solve it, as well as someone or something to try and prevent the solving of that problem.
