Description
On September 7, 2001, nations worldwide agreed to set up an international cease-fire day, on September 21. This was to be announced to the world on September 11, but, unfortunately, we all know what hapened that day. The man behind the plan never gave up, and in 2007 Afghanistan successfully ceased fire, completely, for one day, September 21. On this day Afghans gave free polio vaccines, saving thousands of lives. Visit for more information about this important holiday, which, in my opinion, should be more popular than Christmas, or Hanukka, or any other major holiday.
This year, I want to celebrate as well. My plan is to collect poems and short stories about promoting peace. I plan on organizing these, with proper recognition to the authors, in a book, and have the book published for September 21.
