Publish Central! Forum Does Self Publishing Actually ..

New to the group, so hello all.

My questions is this: Is self-publishing legitimate in the literary world now? With Createspace giving access to distribution should this now be considered a valid avenue for frustrated writers hoping for someone to notice their voice over the din?

I'm testing the waters with a very short, small, short story collection of mine. I'll get back to you with my official opinion after the fact. But in the mean time, I'd love opinions on this one.

I am wondering the same thing. Also, looking for credible self-publishing houses that include a staff of great editors - not just a printing press company.
