EX#9: Poetic Gems
EX#9: Poetic Gems17 Years AgoFind poetic gems – things that have five facets, each of the five senses. For instance a garlic clove, tastes like garlic, obviously, but also smells like an Italian restaurant, looks like an cooked oyster once it’s peeled from it’s shell, feels like crepe paper when it isn’t peeled, and sounds like an old man unwrapping a candy during a performance. Include each of the five facets in your writing. Then, go on to intangible things, like a summer afternoon, or how you feel when a certain person smiles, or an idea like liberty.
