The Versenators Forum Challenge #22
Challenge #2216 Years AgoThrowing something out here, I think we should keep up with the challenges each week for Nihad. I miss them, and I miss reading your responses. While we will not be able to choose a 'featured writer' I think we can at least keep ourselves fresh. Plus, I think Nihad would be very proud of all of us for doing so. I think we should add our entries under each weekly challenge thread, so others may review/read them.
We can all take turns issuing each weekly challenge. A day late, this week's challenge: Of the 4 major elements (Earth, Air, Water, Fire), which one represents you (spiritually) and why? Talley ho. Cree ::cool:: |

[no subject]16 Years AgoI like the challenge, it's easier with a starting point. This one doesn't strictly fit the challenge -- it's not which element fits me, but the elements at play on my imagination.
Maribel There is an ancient place in a town called Maribel, hidden from passersby, hidden within a dell. Moss grows over scattered rocks, maple leaves cover the floor, the morning mists settle like a cloud on mystic moors. Beneath the layers of earth, beneath the strata of rock, a cave opens downwards to an underground loch. This place was made by eons, and, some say, by miracle, two elements married in this old, old cathedral. The spirited water nymph and solid earthen giant loved each other for contrast, loved the other's complement. The two sought nature's blessing, though no one would advocate, they knew they could never merge without God to mediate. He agreed to make a place for them to reside alone, though never to conjugate in the cloister made of stone. So many years he loved her, so many sighs she gave, separated from the world together in their grave. |

[no subject]16 Years AgoI'm up for this. I'd definitely choose air. ::smile::
I've been really musical in my writing lately. Wanna read? ::biggrin:: It all starts with my best friend's poem which I really loved: A Requiem for Maria A Poem by Rc R. Vagilidad And so I wrote a reply for him: His Requiem for Maria A Poem by Maxinne Marie Then for the next poems I wrote, music has been a big topic in them! Hehehe A Lullaby to Romance A Poem by Maxinne Marie Fragile Insect Wings A Poem by Maxinne Marie Fragile Insect Wings II A Poem by Maxinne Marie Pale A Poem by Maxinne Marie And yes, I love the piano. =) |

[no subject]16 Years AgoGreat idea! I know that Nihad would love us to keep up with our writing, and challenges always spark my imagination, so... I think the best way to handle it would be to post a poem normally, put the challenge number in it, and then post in the forum a link to the poem...I don't know, just what I think would work best. I'm up for helping with the challenges to, so when it's my turn, just drop me an email!!!
*hugs* to all the Versenators! Sarah |

I usually just put "challenge #..." in the description cell, so everyone knows it is a response. If you know how to post a link to your response, you are more than welcome to on the challenge thread here in the forum. I believe Sarah is going to post the next challenge sometime this week, I am assuming Friday as usual. It would be cool if everyone got a chance to throw down a challenge. I'm so proud of ya'lls enthusiasm. I know Nihad is just beaming. As far as who will be throwing out the challenge for each week is a little blurry, so if any of ya'll have an idea on how to keep that organized, please speak up. We don't want 10 people putting out a challenge for the week. ::drool:: My best, Cree |
