The Writers' Block Forum need advice

its been so long since i have written anything or even expressed how i really feel that i am having a major block. i am getting half way through pieces and find myself lost in the words. different thoughts and feelings are getting jumbled together which is distracting me from the original idea i started with. i have several pieces half finished saved on my computer and each one brings me to a different road block. any advice?
