v-day?

how do you guys feel about this oh-so-wonderfully nauseatingly pink day?
are you a big fan? the kind of person who wears pink and red and spends all day passing our cards and flowers and teddybears and yummy home made sweets?
are you only like that if you have a valentine?
or do you think its just a stupid greeting card company holiday?
do you wear black?
or are you indifferent?

If you insist on pink
please bring me the pepto
and stand far away
so that I can avoid contaigon
love doesn't need prompting
from hallmark and their nazi good cheer
just let it go if you don't have it
and please flush those
goddam hearts down the toilet.

As a new recruit awaiting love deployement V- day means something unexpected to me. Future joy? The announcement of feelings shared? Oh the wonder! Yet for the enlisted lovers currently deployed into troops of deux, an expectation is developed and duty under pressure must be performed regardless of extra curricular romantic activities. And finally for those veterans of V Day perhaps a twinge of resentment, hostility and a little bit of leaning on the idea that hallmark is responsible for commemorating the memories of love in stone. Lest we forget.
