I've been using a technique called CLUSTERING to get over those stumbling blocks for a while now. Here is the basics:   Start with a word in the center of a page. Circle it. Then freestyle toss out related words or phrases that to your centered word, circling the other words and phrases.. drawing lines to where they may match up to other words and phrases. You continue this until you get the urge to write.. something, anything.. a vignette, a poem, a short piece of fiction.   This may not work for everyone, especially those who are more structured in their writing, but give it a chance!   Hope this helps!   ~Lori Carlson~
