Writers Asylum Forum Pirates vs Ninjas

I am currently doing a piece with another writer it is called Pirates vs Ninjas that is the working title any way. Well my problem is this we are writing this in the past ,the setting right now is in Japan 1700's , I am trying to research Japan,its culture,and right now its geography. Any one have any insight or know a good website for researching among many things japan and possibly its trade history with the dutch.
