(Seasonal Affective Disorder) SAD in Reykjavik...

Originally from N.Y. I have lived in Reykjavik (capital of Iceland) for one year and winter is truly upon us now with long stretches of darkness. It influences my work in that I am more productive, but much less social than in the summertime.

There is something intrinsically romantic about pervasiveness darkness or moonlight at 9 am in the piercing cold. But at other times it feels achingly bleak, perhaps this is why my recent reads trend towards the gothic novel...

I am suffering from SIWB (snowed in with baby)... we used to take 1-3 walks a day, 20 min. to 3 hours long, so we are having a tough time sitting inside all day!  I don't mind the cold outside so much, but it's been rainy and bitterly windy.  I can't even imagine living in your situation!
