6 siblings, 1 dad, 6 grandchildren and life without the Velcro that held us all together.

Here I am. 1 of 6 lost adult ducklings waddling around looking for direction, looking for comfort, looking for answers, and most of all longing for a mother’s love. This is my journey. Continuing in a different place in life with different needs as time passes. My family experienced the same loss when our dear mom lost her battle with cancer. Same loss and yet 6 very different paths as we find our individual roads to healing and beginning life without our Velcro.

Sharing my most intimate struggles is my way to give back. If I can make one person feel comfort, then I succeeded. If I make one person laugh out of pure exhaustion from crying, then I overachieved. My mom taught me to take lemons and make lemonade. Somehow the idea of taking the pain and squeezing the s**t out of it while adding spoonsful of sugar in hopes of tasting something sweet seems oddly appropriate in this situation. So, I attempt to make lemonade. Sometimes life is good, sometimes life downright sucks, sometimes loss comes years after you lose, but life continues through my letters to Mom and anyone else along the way.
