About Me

A former aspiring writer now perspiring to write. I am also a sober alcoholic and revert to the Church who found continued sobriety and serenity in the Catholic Faith, now engaging the Web to “Seek first the Kingdom of God” through “new media” applications. Since 2007 I have blogged at Sober Catholic and now am finally turning my attention to expanding my efforts with devotional booklets and eventually longer works of fiction. At the moment I am working through epublishing while later perhaps through traditional "brick-and-mortar" houses.

My devotional booklets are for Catholics and other Christians who are affected by alcoholism and addictions. I am also planning on novels and shorter works in the speculative fantasy genre that explore the borderlands between life and death. If that sounds strange, it is just a development of an interest of mine in dying, death, grief and the afterlife that started in the aftermath of my Mom's passing in 2005.

My ultimate goal is to eventually write full-time, maintaining the online recovery work but also developing fiction writing exploring the shadowy boundaries between life, death and what is beyond; what exactly exists in that stage between awake and asleep? And I am convinced that some things do lurk out of the corner of your eye.

So, I suppose that Catholicism, addiction recovery, reading, writing, death and the fuzzy gray areas along the borders of life are interests. Oh, I also like cats and old Mac computers.

I write a blog related to death and such things entitled The Four Last Things.
