I wrote you a love poem...

I wrote you a love poem...

A Poem by sivan

I wrote you a love poem,

I wrote you a love poem,

But I chickened out

Somewhere between you calling me babe and holding my hand.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I took it to the beach with me

And got it lost upon the sand.

I wrote you a love poem, but I carried it with me for too many days

And somehow the ink just faded away.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I was having a cigarette

And the ash fell

Cutting out the words I wanted most to cry.

I wrote you a love poem,

But see I messaged you and you didn’t reply,

I wrote you a love poem.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I chickened out

Somewhere between you calling me babe and holding my hand

I wrote you a love poem,

But I felt it didn’t compare to all the stories out there

So I threw it away.

I wrote you a love poem,

But we started talking and laughing

And I felt the mood just wasn’t ideal.

I wrote you a love poem.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I chickened out

Somewhere between you calling me babe and holding my hand.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I put it in my pocket and

Somehow it got mixed up with all the other laundry.

I wrote you a love poem.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I didn’t think the words sounded quite right

So I ripped it up and started again that night.

I wrote you a love poem,

But someone told me it reeked of desperation

So I thought twice about giving it to you

And I chose the second thought.

I wrote you a love poem.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I chickened out

Somewhere between you calling me babe and holding my hand.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I was reading it to myself and I lost grip

And the wind carried it away.

I wrote you a love poem,

But I didn’t think it was enough

To make you stay.

I wrote you a love poem

I wrote you a love poem,

I just wish id given it to you that day.

i love this...the whole poem about, " i wrote you a love poem but was too afraid to give it to you" and yet a beautiful love poem comes out of the denial...

nicely done.

Aww so beautiful. I don't think many people understand how loving and yet simplistic but hard for same sex couples to be able to hold hands is. I see this image again, and it stands out to me. I love, love, love how you use it in your work. So effective love. Once again I can relate. Constant writing to someone, and something else occurs and you decide to let the moment pass..ugh..but how you wrote this poem makes me want to not miss the moment again....so beautiful, and so sad all at the same time. GUH(girl in cajun) YOU CAN WRITE!~ :)
