Metrosexual (And What!)

I may take more time than you

in a mirror 

while I fix my hair

I may give you advice 

on the make up that you wear

I care about my branding

and the colours that are cute

I have to match 

all my shoes and the occasional boot

for I am a Metrosexual 

my appearance is my life

but gentlemen please stay clear

my suited partner will be a wife

Manicures and stubble trimmed

skinny jeans and scarves

a little bit of guy liner 

perfect appearance is my task 

I may look camp to you 

and what!

is all I have to say

I don’t seek your approval

now leave me to my day

Sounds pretty much right on track. I find the whole metrosexual man thing quite interesting. I also find it a pain to have to take so much time making sure to be "presentable." I wouldn't think men wouldn't want to jump into that rat race. Kind of a commentary on the shallowness of society, I think. Then again, it could have to do with the loss of individuality and definition that's being promoted in general and an attempt to maintain one's self by having their own "look." Well written and thought provoking piece.

honestly, i have to say that mterosexual men are my favorite dating group!!!! they understand, theyre romantic, they help out, they kinda think like a woman, and theyre just amazing. im sorry, but id rather have a metro than a hetero lol

Loved this poem made me smile such a great fun read much needed after reading your darker poems. interesting... actually i had never heard of this term before this year. i never knew there was a name for it, but i have met many.
