Tick Tock

Tick Tock

A Poem by SF

Can he ever know?
Can he ever know how to understand?
His compassion is lacking and my problems seem like sand...
Sand that runs endless along the shoreline.
Sand that tick, tick, ticks away at the time I have left to save myself.

Can he ever know?
Can he ever know how I lay away at night...
Laying awake plotting my own path into the afterlife.
Circling only negative thoughts in my mind,
Regressing farther and farther away from the present moment.

Can he ever know?
Can he ever know that I love him?
And can he ever love me...
Love me on my best days,
And love me even harder on my worst.
Or will he leave,
Because my darkness shines too bright for his ego.

Can he ever know...
