MY WALK

MY WALK

A Poem by Marianne

Alone in a crowd

lonely of heart

I wander the streets

memories leading me

to back alleys of

buried pain within

timeless loss

The heat of the sun

strikes my frosted heart

burning with desire

for one more kiss upon

lips starved of love

lost in layers of hope

I long for your whispered

promises of life beneath

the shelter of your warmth

once more be stirred

by heat rising as you fuel

the fire of lost dreams

I pass the signs of one-way lanes

head home to rest inside the dark

wait for you beneath the stone

pressed against my chest

You always write the darkly so well. No critique, but I will say I find it can appeal to many things in this world and will therefore relate easily with the readers. It feels like sadness, but constrained to await the joy that might alleviate it. Well done...

Gorgeous imagery, following the story through a mundane melody that develops and floats below a symphony hidden within the poignancy of your words. The surface is undisturbed and yet within the depths there is a chaos of emotion, it pushes and pulls self, confusing and hurting creating bitter want and passion of a yearning hurt. Love it.

You are blessed with the ability to express sorrow as brightly as you do joy.

Such a lonely, sad poem, yet beautiful, Marianne .. it's as if searching, needing to touch but, never quie close enough. Something about, 'I pass the signs of one-way lanes' almost a lost-in-a-maze-like journey.
