Fake Friends

I thought we were friends...I guess I was wrong...

Every time I think of you

I think about vapes and Pops

I never feel safe anymore

It’s dangerous, out my door to even walk

I tired of being hunted

I’m tired of being hated

Yeah, I did regretful things in our friendship, now I’m humiliated

Your look to me,

I can feel hatred in your eyes

Makes me feel like all those “I love you”’s were just lies

I can’t breathe

Suffocated by all your memories

Our friendship was nothing but a meaningless fling

That doesn’t take away the fact that you hurt me

I thought we were best friends?

I guess I wrong

You were fake from the start

But near the end

I knew we were falling apart

You did everything you could to cut me off

Cut off from hangouts

Driven in separate cars

Hell, you even stopped that tradition of ours

When you were hurting

It was always love and comfort

I would provide

I knew you were hurting

I knew you lost that baby inside

I told you I loved you and I was there for you

But all you did was hide

I know your pain, I lost one too,

Sure it was two years ago,

But it hurt me too

I did everything I could to make you feel safe

Around your heart, you put up a gate

Went out of my way to make you feel loved

And what did you do?

You stuck a knife in my back and twisted

You screamed at me, told me you wish I never existed

I protected you, I was literally always there!

But your fake-a*s just exposed me

You stunk up our air!

I thought we were best friends

I guess I was wrong

So...this is about my ex-best friend. The part that says, "I'm tired of being hunted" is because I feel her gang, like an actual gang, that she was the leader of, is after me, so I avoid going out of my own house. As always, reviews are welcome.

Great job of expressing this deep disappointment using a ton of details so the reader can imagine exactly how it went down. As evidence of your kind heart, this doesn't sound like a hateful rage at all, even tho you sound angry enuf to go there. But this sounds more like a questioning, a reckoning, which feels less abrasive than a rant. I have been "taken in" by people all my life & some were total fakes. But in the end, I still believe it's better to start out trusting a person & let them prove me wrong. Excellent self-expression with interesting rhyming (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

My best friend and I spend some time apart because she was in an abusive relationship. However, things worked out in the end. I never felt "hunted" by my best friend, but a little by her partner at the time. I saw it for what it was pretty early in the relationship, and her partner didn't like being called out like that. They're divorced now, thankfully.

Sad that this is based on truths...they say friendships come and go...and that you can count your friends on one hand. This shouldn't be the case for someone so young. Don't let this stop you making new friends. I hope you were able to move on from this part of your life enjoying going forward and connecting with real friendships.

I haven't, as shy as I am, I try to open up a little when I go out on outings. So I try to make friends wherever I go, in fact, my best friend right now, lives seven hundred miles away!
