Oh, Little Black bird

Oh, Little Black bird

A Poem by Stacy Purvis

I considered not posting this particular selection due to its dark, somewhat cathartic nature. However, I decided to go ahead and post it because life is full of Dark and Light. Enjoy!

"

Oh, Little Blackbird

The songbird sings her song of laughter
The blackbird, songs of strife
The songbird lives happy in her nest
The blackbird ends her life.

Darkness lives in your hallow heart
Evil lurks within its rim
Oh, what sinister things you plan
Behind your crooked grin.

I will not allow you to injure me
In addition to your ill will
I will not allow this hatred to be
This evil I intend to kill.

You have lost yourself in blood
From the kill you know so well
The tears, they create a flood
From the folly in your hell.

Leave this place as soon as you can
This warning you should heed
No more lies will be tolerated
On your way, I say, with Godspeed.

Bye bye oh dear little blackbird
Consumed with anger and angst
Words now fall upon deaf ears
In charge the company of Phalanx.

The songbird sings a song of love
The blackbird songs of hate
The songbird rises above it all
The blackbird awakens too late.

We all know little black birds in our heads or even in our life. I enjoyed the victory of the light. Sing on Songbird!
