I feel for you

I don’t love you

I don’t feel sad for you

But rather I feel emotions you cannot

Emotions you were told not to have

Ones that were robbed from your cradle

By people who were also told not to have them

And not bear children who possess them

Do I feel selfish for keeping my emotions

Do I feel remorse for watching your shell get more hollow

With every insult and every curse

I inhale your putrid stench

And decide I despise you

But with every scream and every holler

I realize how life treated you

And I feel depressed

I will never love you

I will never forgive you

But I do feel for you
