mean gods

mean gods

A Poem by 3liud

Mean gods!

As I imagine, I know nothing about love

I would ask but am not in good terms with the gods above

So, I watch as birds fly in pairs others in quadruples and I imagine the fun

But now I feel vulnerable, punch me and I bleed

But don’t, it would be uncontrollable like the singing I have in the shower

Sweet, right?

I have been chasing the light of dawn for long,

Falling in love with every bit of your favorite song

Dancing to the tunes as you would along!

Funny, right?

I have never seen you dance.

The gods are mean. I can only catch a glimpse of you when asleep.

When am awake it’s all blurry.

I retreat to my fertile imagination. There you exist.

In the vastness of the world or the inexistent love world, I would imagine it to be

Under the pity of the little archer whose aim is all but desperate

I retreat.

Weep.

Listening to the noise in the silence, as loneliness spreads it arms towards me

In a desperate embrace, I turn towards it

Then the gale blows

In it the beauty of the face of love

Grace and the scent of a sprinkle of daisies.

Just for a millisecond…

Then the mean grin of the gods.

And love is gone again forever into the unknown.
