You should let me love you.

You should let me love you.

A Poem by 3liud

I am not one to insist on anything, or someone

I have been known to run away from what I want-

Just because I am nervous to say so.

But you, love, my heart aches for!

I have faced the jaws of agony,

I have loved and lost

I wept and swore I never loved again

But you, love, my heart wants!

Am like a broken piece of rubber

Cut and twisted to fragility

But being tied now, I can only but tighter hold onto-

Hold onto you, love, and never let go!

Am a broken soul, fragile heart and longing mind

But you have shown me how much strength I should be.

With love, heal my soul. My heart will strengthen

And, love, my mind, and spirit will never cease to long for you.

Perhaps it’s your eyes I want to look into every night before I sleep

Maybe it’s your smile that I want as my wakeup call

Or maybe it’s your touch, that heavenly touch to make my body tremble

Tremble for you, love, and wish I had met you earlier.

I want you to be my dreams every night

To be that shadow, that voice that I can’t get out of my head

I want those hazel eyes on mine to look

Perhaps, love, you can look into my soul and see how it yearns for you.
