My Shadow

My Shadow

A Poem by Quietstorm
"

This poem was inspired by Carl Jung's theory of "The Shadow"

"
My shadow no longer want to be suppressed
She desires to be in the forefront of me
No longer waiting silently, nor patiently
She slides through the crevasses of my reality
Slowly trying to control the whole me
Daily interrupting my psyche
Normally I would go for green tea
But lately she's been craving coffee

A nice metaphor indeed. Archetypes are very interesting and I always loved Carl Jung who wrote extensively about them and their power over us. Nicely done

Indeed , I'm fascinated by his theories! Thanks for reading
I enjoy the rhythm of this poem, very nice. Thank you very much. The last lines particularly are sticking with me. "Normally I would go for green tea
But lately she's been craving coffee". Good work
