Dreaming of A Kiss

A poem about you

I look into your eyes

But I'm too shy so I look away.

It's like you can see right into my soul

Right through the wall I've built up around me.

And that scares me

Because I fear you won't accept me for who I really am.

My flaws, my quirks, my dark side

My indecision, my bullheadedness, my swellheadedness.

I question how you could love a person like me

Tell me, tell me because I just can't figure it out.

We're eye to eye

I run my fingers through your hair.

I want to kiss you

But I'm too afraid to make a move.

The hours pass

It's so easy to get lost in your eyes and captivated by your thoughts.

I gather my things

And walk out the door.

I spend the whole walk home wishing I had kissed you

Such torture you bring me.

Your lips so red

Your eyes so blue.

Can't shake those colors out of my mind

All they do is remind me of you.

Your sweet smell and your lingering presence

Your quiet laugh and your contagious smile is the bane of my existence.

I know that the first thing I'm gonna do the next time I see you is kiss those lips and stare into those eyes

I dream that this kiss will send shivers down my spine.
