Kissing Fear

Kissing Fear

A Poem by V.J.C.

Fear is a constant companion,

Always there when everything else is gone.

Holding me tight,

In an unwanted embrace.

We both feel the same,

wanting another's company.

So here we sit,

In a darkened room,

All alone.

Hated fear is,

but loneliness,

a scarier thought.

I starve for someone's thoughts,

crave another's touch,

but I have burdens none wish to bare.

So fear is there,

just another weight.

Sounds of woe,

hope nothing but a show.

Fear I now cling to,

nothing else left to hold.

Now with no choice,

mind made up.

I close my eyes,

and kiss fear.

This is so deep and amazing Victoria! Many do not know you have Asperger's syndrome. This is an intimate look inside of the complex antiquities the minds suffers. The path of one trapped in fear. To hold close that witch if so faithfully there…FEAR. You are amazing and I love everything you write, but this my dear, is amazing because of the twisted deapth held tight within the web of words you spin!

No one may ever know, just how true and deep your words hold true!
I love you and you my dear are my hero!

Your poem is so emotional, with stark, sharp edges. Someone once said, "We have nothing to fear but fear itself". And your poem highlights the point that most of our stress and fears stem from fouled relationships. I appreciate how such an easy-to-read poem can produce so much mental anguish. I think I need a cookie.

This is that dark s**t that i can see someone sitting in a dark corner in the shadows. I like the way you take me to your world with your works. I love it.

This is absolutely brilliant! Kissing Fear--that expression is sublime in its eloquence. I love that photo, too--it captures it perfectly. What's worse than kissing fear is becoming accustomed to loneliness, to the point where you don't fear it anymore . . . once that happens, you're in for a cold road. What really amazes me is that when you suffer loneliness and love-starvation, people think that getting a lover actually cures that stuff. Usually it makes it worse.

Very sad and dark, 'Fear is a constant companion', and something that is strange to have relationship with, like My Old Friend the Blues and maybe its something you get to know and may learn how to handle and improve upon and eventually it will make you stronger. I really like this piece its very honest and open and very brave of you to write it

Strong, cutting, and deeply profound thoughts well expressed in simple lines. Theme carried well and last lines evoke acceptance/surrender.

This sounds like a strong dose of anxiety and depression caused by the anxiety. I live with anxiety but it doesn't rule my life. Hope these feeling evaporate.
