A Poem by Alexander Emberson
"

How do you know who you are in a land of stone faces?

"

All the steps we did take over our shared distance,
Those impressions did seal our fate;
They are gone now. Blown away;
With fresh new canvas for new lovers to play.

Tell me once more of the times I did adore,
The face of the one I did love;
Was the time I did spend worth everything in the end,
Or did you live like you never did before?

Cus you see I spilt the blood, and smashed a flower;
I am a giant in a land of stone faces!
Cursing the love that has seen no more paces
Across the fresh dirt or beaten way.

I walk alone and spend them without a soul
In the land of the stone faces.
And the breeze does not bring the wind or rain,
It does not bring an end to my day!

I fall and don’t get up;
the weight of the pain inside,
It doesn’t let up.
It doesn’t give up.

I decay as I lay;
My body into Earth,
My soul for love,
My mind for nothing.

In time I am gone.
I am grass, dirt… maybe trees.
I could live forever,
As a path for new lovers to walk.

Alexander Emberson
I wrote this three years ago, and I can't remember what I was thinking at that time. I can best describe this as a stream of conscious piece, so if you don't get it, I don't blame you! XD
