Past Life Love Poem

Past Life Love Poem

A Poem by 8petallotus
"

This is a poem that I wrote about a man who gave me a sense of a past life that I loved.

"

You remind me of India;

With all of its sweetness and spice.

You remind me of a time long hence,

That seems so close now.

Your smell brings me back to the late nights

When the sweet Jasmine blossomed, and the salty sea waved in the breeze.

Your smile, so distant now,

Gives back the recollections of a rushing Ganges.

Your laugh, filled with child-like sorrow,

Fills my ears with the tears once shed when you were gone from my side.

And your eyes?

Those eyes, who’s pools’ depth beyond the ocean’s understanding.

You remind me of when,

When I use to ride the backs of the elephants,

And would sing praises to Gods long dead.

You remind me of India,

And the life I long to live.
