She Decided Not To Be Broken

A poem for anyone near that point of breaking, or even beyond

She decided not to be broken.

Though she spent many a sleepless night in tears.

She had hard won lessons,

Of broken hearts over the years.

One after another they had stolen,

Little bits of her soul. 

But this time she did not falter,

And decided she would come out whole.

She decided not to be broken.

Though she rode the crocodile's back,

And learned that many pieces,

Were as beautiful,

As one giant piece whole.

Learning to shift and move was different,

Than living without a soul.

She decided not to be broken.

And that was all it took.

To recover the shattered pieces,

And fit them anew...

One decision was all that mattered,

One decision that stuck.
