Scars Are Souvenirs

Scars Are Souvenirs

A Poem by Megan
"

Just a little something I wrote last night

"
Oh the night is abundant
With disappointment
My heart is broken
Tears have stained my pillowcase
And I am surrounded
By people I'd rather not speak to
Just fade away
Into the walls wear I belong and wait
To drown in this pain
Oh and I'd give anything
If I could just sleep
And forget my memories
Haunting and unforgiving
So unrelenting
A lovely contagion
Of foolish mistakes
Making me stronger
I hope
To face tomorrow
Lets raise the stakes

I like the logic of this poem. The title is true. Scars are honor tokens of life wins and losses. I like the direct statements and the strong ending. Better to stay strong then to fall into sadness. Thank you for a excellent poem.
