Black Mountain, NC

A Poem by Megan
"

Loving somebody don't make them love you -Jack Johnson-

"
I see you're empty seat, sitting next to me
And I know you wont be coming back anytime soon
You see you're up in the stage, simply miles away
And I'm alone looking like a fool
So I step outside, in the cool moonlight
Hoping you'd follow once you'd see I wasn't there

But I guess I'm just a flickering candle in the daylight
Another face in the crowd of 200 tonight
And if I called you name, things would still be the same
Cause who would hear a whisper in the wind?

I'm alone in the cold, facing on empty road
Laid out before me just like sea
I guess the dim lamp light will light my path tonight
A lowly vagabond is all I'll ever be
Oh yes I'll be fine, so long no one sees me cry

I guess I'm just a flickering candle in the daylight
Another face in the crowd of 200 tonight
And if I called your name, things would still be the same
Cause who would hear a whisper in the wind?

And I've tried to make the best of things
But I'm slowly falling apart
A lonely heart can only take so much pain
Yes the disappointment stings, but that's life to a T

I guess I'm just a flickering candle in the daylight
Another face in the crowd of 200 tonight
And if I called you're name, things would still be the same
Cause who would hear a whisper in the wind?
