Hearts Aflame

Hearts Aflame

A Poem by A. E. Cox
"

2004, a high-school crush

"
My heart is racing fast
and I can't think straight
My hands get hot and sweaty
I want to hyperventilate
I'm filled with so much joy
I smile the whole day through
I laugh aloud for no reason
I don't know what to to
Im pierced with cupids arrow
so deep it wont come out
Why would I want it to,
isn't that what loves about?

I keep stumbling on the last line. Perhaps it should read isn't that what love's all about?

Also, have you thought about using some punctuation? I think it would add very nicely to the poem.

Overall, I really enjoyed the poem. Young love is always fun to read about.

Thank you Nikole!

Yes I see what you are saying about the end, and punctuation would suit it well!
As for the stumble on the end, I noticed that while typing, but I did not want to do any editing, as this was written when I was 15 and I want to keep it as more of a nostalgic piece, as with the rest of my poems as well.

I plan on going back through and placing punctuation where needed when I have more time.

Thank you for your review.
