Stranger;

Stranger;

A Poem by C.

The thing about carving your names on trees is that it's never permanent
The tree will always grow back over it
I could carve our names inside hearts on a million trees and it wouldn't matter; it couldn't save us
But maybe that's okay because I don't want to save us anymore
And maybe it makes me selfish but
If I had to choose to save myself or a stranger, I'd save myself
I said before that I'd die for you, but now
I don't know who you are anymore; you're a stranger
In the body of a man I once loved
So I'm saving myself

People do change. Sometime, not for the better.
"I don't know who you are anymore; you're a stranger
In the body of a man I once loved
So I'm saving myself"
Sometime we must escape to save our mind and the heart. Thank you C for sharing the excellent poetry.

I feel this is so relatable to anyone who has grown apart from a partner, beautifully written.

I relate to this poem. Reading the last three lines left me feeling pain over my past. Great poem. Really hits you. Good job, A.

I feel some kind of pain here because, its like a breakup and now the person is just a stranger, somebody that you used to know like the song says.
Great poem!
