Twice the JudasA Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey One day I was talking to a Rasta friend of mine and somehow we ended up talking about Judas the Zealot, I put the two together based on the similarities of both those moments Judas you betrayed the chosen one Judas you denied your own salvation Judas you betrayed the chosen one Judas tried to play JAH for a fool At the last supper Judas dipped his hand in A fanatic with destructive dreams When the lion refused to roar He went off and did some back door deals The demons came He had to flee Holy Spirit withdrew from his soul On a tree he swung in the wind Disemboweled and swinging Judas you betrayed the chosen one Judas you denied your own salvation Judas you betrayed the chosen one Judas tried to play JAH for a fool Fast forward to Ethiopia Judas was giving a second chance he led the coup Ounce again the King of Kings did not resist The mighty lion betrayed by his kin Driving away into darkness Judas was his family Judas was his own people Failed the test ounce again But he witnessed Selassie ascending Still it was too late for him to learn his lesson Judas you betrayed the chosen one Judas you denied your own salvation Judas you betrayed the chosen one Judas tried to play JAH for a fool Torment Judas Torment The fool was you Two chances and failed Doubled dice came up empty The fool is you Let I and I mourn the fool They know not what they do © 2012 Abdul Batin Osman BeyAuthor's Note
