Old Rail Splitter

Old Rail Splitter

A Poem by Abdul Batin Osman Bey
"

In memory of Abraham Lincoln who was called Old Rail Splitter

"

Old Rail Splitter where have you gone?

In a far off place I’ve yet to know

Old Rail Splitter what do you see?

Flowers ever blooming, or winter never ending?

Old Rail Splitter they say you’ll return

In Messianic garb killing the engulfing crow

Old Rail Splitter how soft is your bed?

Warm as summer or cold as white stone?

Old Rail Splitter where have you gone?

In a far off place I’ve yet to know
